Overcoming anxiety
Anxiety is a normal reaction to many things in life, but when it happens all the time and stops you doing normal activities, it becomes a problem.
Anxiety disorders are common and affect one in ten young people.
Here are some examples of how you might feel if you are anxious:
- Worried
- Upset
- Feeling sick
- Feeling shaky/dizzy
- Feeling like you might faint/pass out
- Thinking unpleasant thoughts
- Thinking that you might “go crazy”
You might be affected every day or just in certain situations.
There’s plenty of help available, including support for overcoming phobias and treatment for General Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
